I’ve noticed there are two types of people when I tell them that I am going to be taking leave from my graduate program and cycling across the western coast of South America.
The first, often look at me with some concern in their eyes — often titling their head slightly to the side and pause, before asking why…
The second, like my Cartagenero taxi driver, often reply with wide smiles, a “estas muy loco” and a lot more questions to follow.
Whoever you are — welcome.
I am currently in Cartagena, Colombia.
In 24 hours or so, will embark south for 6 months adventuring on my bicycle, and am looking forward to have lots of fun writing about it here.
More to come soon…
